Take a Virtual Tour of our Church
Following the failure of the old central heating system
boiler in the week before Christmas 2004, emergency space
heaters were used for a few weeks until a replacement
boiler was obtained. This disaster steeled the minds of Church
Members and the outcome was to accelerate plans of work to
refurbish the church interior.

In November 2005, work commenced on the refurbishment,
which was done in stages as follows:
- The side pews were removed to allow for the intallation
of new, more efficient central heating radiators.
- Fifty new chairs were purchased from donations received
and these were placed on bare floor boards in the space
previously occupied by the side pews.
- New floor boards & joists were purchased to raise
the level of the aisles to the same level as the pews.
After leaving the timber to aclimatise for a few weeks in the
church, joinery work was undertaken by church members under
the leadership of Harold Critchley.
- A period of fundraising ensued to acquire a further 70
chairs, with many Members making generous donations and
when this was achieved, the central pews were finally removed in
the spring of 2007 and replaced with these chairs.
- Following other generous donations, a new carpet was
laid in that summer.
- A dedication service was held on 23 rd
September 2007 to commemorate this refurbishment.
